Rhode Island Beaches Close Due to Storm - Narragansett, RI

Potential closing of 7 Rhode Island Beaches due to high bacterial levels.

Yesterday WJAR reported that The Rhode Island Department of Health has recommended the state close 7 of its beaches to swimming as a result of elevated bacterial levels due to storm run-off.  Make sure you do your research to be sure the beach you want to swim at is not affected with bacteria.

Beaches Subject to No SWIMMING 

• Scarborough Beach South - Narragansett (North is okay to swim)
• North Kingstown Town Beach
• Barrington Town Beach
• Saunderstown Yacht Club
• Easton's Beach - Newport 
• Camp Grosvenor - Saunderstown
• Bonnet Shores - Narragansett
• Gooseberry Beach - Newport
• New Bedford Beaches are closed to swimming currently
