MVP of household items baking soda! Baking soda has to be the MVP of household items for cleaning and getting rid of odors!!

Pets, kids, stinky work boots, food. All of these and then some cause your home to have unpleasant smells, no matter how much you scrub, wipe, vacuum, and mop they just don't seem to go away!!

Getting rid of odors can be easy as pie, using household items such as baking soda and vinegar!

Quick and easy hacks

One very quick solution can be cutting a lemon in half and placing them in an area out of reach of any animals, your home will be smelling lemony fresh in no time, without using any chemicals.

We're here to help you, and sometimes we even help ourselves when teaching you!! Today, we learned that you can put a little bit of vanilla (or any other) extract (not essential oils) on a cold lightbulb. When the bulb warms up, the scent will release into the air, making your home smell oh so fresh!! (We might have to test this one out later, we'll update ??.

An easier, no hassle hack that will easily get rid of some odors and stagnant air... open those windows!! Especially on the nice days that we've been having, it's the perfect time to get some fresh air circulating inside!

Keeping the kitchen smelling great!

The kitchen is a host for all sorts of smells, whether they be good or bad. Cooking is usually a source of good smells, but sometimes the scraps, trash, and leftovers might not be your favorite air freshener scents LOL!!

Cleaning your fridge weekly is a very good way to keep odors away. Go through the fridge once a week, get rid of any leftovers that haven't been touched, and wipe down the shelves. Using a solution of baking soda and water will help neutralize odors in the refrigerator.

Another source for some nasty odors in the kitchen is the garbage disposal. Putting citrus peels, baking soda, or salt down the drain can help freshen it up, and break down any caked on food debris.

The living room & upholstery

Upholstery, couches, and carpets are a little tougher to tackle since you don't want to soak them in anything. The most useful household item that helps neutralize odors in upholstery is baking soda!! Sprinkle a bit on the couch, carpet, even inside your car! Let it sit for a while (a few hours) then vacuum it up or shake it out!

If your pet has a little accident on the carpet, blot it up as soon as possible, and spray with a 3:1 solution of water and vinegar. The vinegar smell will be a little strong for a few hours, but it will eventually go away. After all, we would rather smell vinegar than urine for a few hours... how about you?

If any odors and cleaning are too much for you to handle on your own, give us a call at 401-949-9955, we'll take care of them and you won't have to smell those stinky smells anymore!
